I’m pausing the Abyss Series for now.

The main reason is simple: dial consistency from the manufacturer has been a bit of a hit-or-miss situation. I’ve rejected several dials due to defects and only kept the ones that meet my standards. Even minor imperfections bother me—I inspect every component under strong white LED lighting for clarity, and if something doesn’t pass, it doesn’t get used.

I don’t compromise on that. Not in design, and especially not in what leaves my hands.

Many of you have shown a strong interest in this model, so it feels right to close this chapter properly. Going forward, I’ll either work with the manufacturer to improve consistency to my standards—or potentially develop a similar dial in-house.

Skeleton Series Expansion: Introducing Silveleton

On a more exciting note, I’ve expanded the Skeleton Series.

Previously, it was only the Metaleton. Now I’ve added Silveleton—a silver skeleton variant built around a 316L stainless steel case, powered by the NH70 silver skeleton movement, paired with C3 luminous hands.

It keeps the same open-worked philosophy but with a cleaner, brighter, and more refined silver aesthetic.

Watch Changelog

Lastly, I’ve also introduced a watch changelog section.

This is something I haven’t really seen many microbrands do. The idea is simple: to document meaningful changes and updates to each watch over time so customers can clearly see how the product evolves.

It’s a way of staying transparent and accountable.

This section will remain active for one year before being archived.

Many of you have asked whether I can open an interest list or make far more watches. I understand the demand, and I appreciate it deeply. The short answer is: I do have constraints (for now), but I’m actively working on them.

I started this brand in April 2026, and it has always been focused on hand-assembled watches. That means I personally source quality parts from different manufacturers, assemble each watch with care, regulate and test it, and inspect every component at every stage. My QC process is hands-on from start to finish. I want each watch that leaves my hands to be something I am proud of, and something that should not be coming back for repairs or warranty issues.

Unlike many microbrands, I do not hand this process over to a factory and hope for the best. It may be easier to place a large order, meet MOQ, and produce everything through full automation, but quality control and reliability are a different story. I prefer to keep things in-house because I believe that is the best way to protect the standard of the final product.

I also do not want to overcommit through a pre-order or interest-list model. I fund the parts myself, which means I am not taking money from customers before the watches are ready. I know how many brands launch through Kickstarter or pre-orders only to underdeliver because of delays, defects, or factory issues. That is not the approach I want to take. I would rather build slowly and responsibly than promise more than I can deliver.

That said, I am scaling steadily. My goal is to produce more than 20 watches in June, and then double that output in July and August. Along the way, there will still be occasional challenges—factory stock issues, rejected parts, and the usual realities of building a business. I am a one-man operation, handling everything from supply chain to website to assembly, but I am committed to doing it properly.

I price my watches fairly, and I truly believe they offer value that goes beyond the price paid. This brand is built on passion, precision, and integrity. Those who wear my watches—or even just see them—understand that.

Thank you for reading, and thank you for being patient with me. I know it can be frustrating when watches sell out quickly, but I’m working hard to make more.

I’ve introduced a newly customized engraved caseback across my watches, strengthening the Bryan Laurent brand’s identity. To achieve precise and lasting engravings, all models now feature a brushed solid caseback, replacing the previous open crystal design. This update also brings a functional benefit—our 38mm case is now slimmer, measuring just 11.3mm from crystal to caseback (it was 12mm with the open caseback).

Another key upgrade is the introduction of C3 lumed hands across all series. Designed for improved visibility in low-light environments, this enhancement reflects a simple philosophy: wear, test, and improve. Every detail evolves through real, daily use.

Finally, I’m excited to unveil a new direction—the Skeleton 7X Series.

Leading this launch is the Metaleton 72, a bold, mechanical-forward design powered by an NH skeleton movement. It features a 40mm case with sapphire crystal, measuring 11.5mm thin, and is paired with a matching gunmetal movement, hands, and a black rubber strap with buckle—delivering a clean yet technical aesthetic.

These updates reflect a commitment to thoughtful design, wearability, and continuous improvement.

I’m excited to announce the launch of a new collection — the Stone 38 series.

This range will feature stunning natural stone dials, leading first launch with the Lapis Lazuli, each offering its own unique texture, depth, and character. No two dials are exactly alike, making every piece truly one of one.

The Stone 38 is built on the same versatile 38mm case used in the Iris 38 and Abyss 38, and is powered by the reliable NH38 automatic movement, just like the rest of the 38 series.

Due to the nature of natural stone, each dial is inherently fragile and requires careful handling and installation — a process that reflects the precision and craftsmanship behind every piece.

More stone variations, such as the Tiger Eye and Malachite, will be introduced over time as the collection evolves.

Singapore watch enthusiast Bryan Ng has officially introduced his own independent watch brand, Bryan Laurent, marking a new chapter in a journey that began nearly two decades ago.

Bryan’s fascination with timepieces began at 16, when he started collecting watches and developed a deep appreciation for their design, mechanics, and history. What began as a hobby gradually evolved into something more hands-on, as his curiosity pushed him beyond collecting and into the world of watch modification.

Over the past few years, Bryan honed his skills by modding watches, experimenting with different components, refining aesthetics, and understanding the intricacies of watch assembly. This period of exploration laid the foundation for his latest venture. Before the official brand launch, he also developed the Pilot 3621A for a customer, a 44mm timepiece powered by the ST3621 manual-wind movement, featuring a custom-aged Type A flieger dial, marking an important milestone in his transition from modder to maker.

Now, with the launch of Bryan Laurent, he steps into the role of a creator, producing timepieces that reflect both his personal taste and technical experience. The debut lineup introduces the Iris 38, a 38mm watch featuring an iris-like dial with a subtle sunburst effect, powered by the NH38 movement, alongside the Abyss 38, also 38mm, distinguished by its gradient dial with a subtle sunburst finish and likewise running on the NH38.

With more watch designs and variations already in development, Bryan Laurent signals a growing vision for the brand, one that continues to explore new styles while staying rooted in craftsmanship and individuality.

The debut of Bryan Laurent represents not just a brand launch but the culmination of years of passion, experimentation, and craftsmanship, transforming a lifelong interest into a tangible, personal expression of watchmaking.
